Platform Engineering Intern

The Platform Engineering Intern will work with the Platform team to research, evaluate, and implement cloud-native and DevOps technologies.

Role Summary: The Platform Engineering Intern will work with the Platform team to research, evaluate, and implement cloud-native and DevOps technologies. The intern will gain hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, automation, and internal platform tooling. A key focus of the role is researching new technologies, building proof-of-concepts, documenting findings, and taking ownership of assigned platform initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and evaluate cloud-native technologies, DevOps tools, and platform engineering solutions

  • Build POCs to validate new technologies

  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal platform tools

  • Support Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability platforms

  • Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency

  • Produce technical documentation and implementation guides

  • Present research findings and recommendations to the Platform team

  • Participate in platform improvement initiatives and technical discussions

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Basic understanding of Linux and networking concepts

  • Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes

  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

  • Exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana

  • Personal GitHub projects, technical blog, or open-source contributions

Soft Skills

  • Curious and eager to learn new technologies

  • Enjoys researching and experimenting with new tools

  • Takes ownership of assigned tasks

  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team

  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
